Play your Part:

Control the section for which responsible

Ensure smooth running of the section and see that all areas of section maintain the motiongate standards

Cook any food on a daily basis according to business requirements and set standards of restaurant. 

Main Duties

  • Organize shifting in the section with regard to mise en place production and its service
  • Communicate tasks to commis chefs and check that they are carried out in the correct manner
  • Write daily dry storage, food requisitions and kitchen transfers on the appropriate forms for the approval of Outlet Chef in order to achieve the high stock rotation desired in his/her section
  • Maintain good colleague relations and motivate colleagues
  • Ensure that training on a one-to-one basis has been carried out and comprehended
  • Check on a daily basis food preparation regarding portion size, quantity and quality as laid down in the recipe index
  • Responsible for completing the daily checklist regarding mise-en-place and food storage
  • Attend meeting requests with the Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef
  • Follow HACCP system set up  and as trained
  • Check the main information board regarding changes in any special events or other information regarding the organization
  • Pass all information to the next shift about functions
  • Check Demi Chefs/Commis Chefs on his/her section: personal hygiene, motiongate standards are in place.

In order to be qualified for this role you should possess the below criteria:

Essential:

  • Male or female with a pleasing personality
  • Willing to work in a team
  • Able to deal with people different nationalities and religions At least 5 years in the Kitchen.
  • Completed kitchen apprentice or chefs training courses for at least one year At least two years in a five star hotel
  • Good communicator
  • Leadership
  • Team player
  • Take on responsibility 

Desirable:

  • Demonstrate a passion for quality and cooking
  • Able to deal with people of different nationalities and religions
  • Able to deal with pressureAt least one year in an international five star hotel in similar position or Demi chef
  • A good knowledge and understanding of Kitchen
